Covid-19: Fire On The Mountain As 112 Persons Contract Coronavirus During Church Service In Germany
Two weeks ago, nothing less than 180 persons attended church service at Evangelical Christian Baptist Church in Germany and 112 confirmed cases of Covid-19 was announced while other chains of infection are being investigated.
Meanwhile, another 150 people are being assessed after they had contact with those who have tested positive.
This was.made known by Rene Gottschalk head of the Germany city's local health authority.
SalientReporters garther that places of worship have gradually reopened in Germany over the past month due to success made in reducing the rate of infection. But many of the infections occurred after worshippers left the service.
The Frankfurt church community on Monday admitted the shortcomings during the service.
The Statement posted on their website reads further, " In retrospect, it would be appropriate for us to wear protective mouth and nose covers during the service and to refrain from singing together."
This pose a threat to Nigerians calling for churches and mosques to be reopened. The increase in the number of positive cases is getting more alarming on a daily basis while situation like this will give a direction on necessary preventive measures.
