Recommend a Building for Maintenance: FEDPOFFA Alumni BoT Chairman, Engr. Kola Lamidi tells Management
The Board of Trustee Chairman of the Federal Polytechnic Offa Alumni Association, Engr. Kola Lamidi on behalf of the Board members has asked the management of the Polytechnic led by Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi to recommend a building for the Board to maintain.
Engr. Kola Lamidi, the first Students' Union President of the Federal Polytechnic Offa and Director, Friesland Campina Wamco company made the pledge during the handover ceremony of the newly elected executives and board of trustees of the polytechnic alumni association.
Engr. Kola Lamidi expressed ecstasy to have come back to his alma mater after many years. He charged the management through the alumni association to locate graduates of the school who are making waves in different spheres of life to give back to the school.
Speaking further, he reiterated that he did not use any certificate for employment except from the one obtained from the Polytechnic which he is always proud of in all ramifications. He urged staff and students to always protect the image of the Polytechnic in their engagements.
Speaking on the improvement of infrastructures in the Polytechnic mini campus, he asked the management to recommend a building for the Board of Trustees of the Alumni Association for maintenance.
According to him, " Today is a great occasion and I thank God. I thank the Governing Council. Today is so important to me because the first laying of the block of this main campus was done by students in 1993 and the block we laid during the first SUG week, today we can seat and stand on it.
"Charity begins at home. You trained us and you know how to get us. Call us back to get back to school. I want to charge you to bring us back.
"There is no gainsaying about our Polytechnic being the fastest growing. I did not use any certificate except the one from this school. There is no industry that I will go that I will not find Fedpoffa graduates; not as contract staff but as full-fledged staff."
Recall that the BoT Chairman had earlier donated a 50kva generator, laptops, desktops, and other facilities to the polytechnic as an endowment.
The inauguration and handover ceremony of the newly elected national executives and constituted Board of Trustees was held on Friday 23rd of September, 2022 at the polytechnic main campus.
