5-Day ICDL Training: Fedpoffa Management, Staff Commend TETFund







After the end of the 5-day training on  International Certificate for Digital Learning (ICDL) organized by TETFund, the Management and staff of the Federal Polytechnic Offa have commended  the Tertiary Education Trust Fund ( TETFund) for granting the selected staff the opportunity to be more oriented in the area of Information Communication Technology.

The participants while expressing satisfaction described the training as worthwhile and educative one that would enhance the productivity of staff in their various fields.

 One of the  participants, Builder M.B Shittu, Head of Department of Building Technology said the training has added to his knowledge on Information Technology and has eased  his operation of different computer applications.

He said" what I have learnt are uncountable. There are some applications that am not familiar with but now, I can handle them perfectly."

Another participant, Mr. Sunday Ikhu-Omoregbe, Head of Department of Accountancy said the training is very rich and worthwhile. He added that with the soft copy of the materials given to the participants, one can easily go back to them for reference purpose. 


Furthermore,  Dr. Mrs. Grace Korter, immediate past Head of Department of Statistics added that the training is very enriching and it has added so much knowledge to her Information Communication Technology skills.

She said, " With this training, I have more knowledge in  the areas of  presentation using the power point.  The teachings have added color to what I thought I knew about the preparation of slides such that I can now prepare slides in a much better way up to international standard."

Similarly, Prince Nurudeen Olanipekun, Director of Industrial Liaison and Placement said  the training has exposed him to a lot of things more importantly about ICT education. According to him, "  I have gained a lot of things and there is nothing we can leave out of the modules treated. Everything is good. We have learnt about cyber security, conference meetings  and all these are relevant to us"

Meanwhile, the Polytechnic's Director of ICT, Engr. Dr. Abdulazeez Ajao commended the Federal Government for bringing the Information Communication Technology intervention support training to the Federal Polytechnic Offa and also appreciated Tertiary Education Trust Fund ( TETFund) through which the Polytechnic's staff enjoyed the intervention. He however lauded the Management led by Dr. Lateef Olatunji for creating a conducive environment with necessary facilities that enable the staff to participate in the training exercise."

While the Registrar, Mr. Adetunji Oni, speaking on behalf of the Rector, Dr. Lateef Ademola Olatunji said the course is very impacful and it would assist the staff of the Polytechnic that participated in their day to day assignments.

" On behalf of the Rector, Dr. Lateef Olatunji, I want to appreciate the Federal Government for bringing this kind of training through  TETFund. Our staff are really happy because the training would go a long way in enhancing their productivity and capacity building in the Polytechnic. The Polytechnic is very grateful to Tertiary Education Trust Fund and we hope that the Federal Government through TETFund will provide us more opportunity for this kind of capacity training exercise", he added.
