FG Releases Assessment Circular For Reopening Of Schools

The Ministry of Education has released a new circular that will guide the assessment program on the level of preparedness of schools for reopening in October. Education officials will visit individual schools all over the country to ascertain their levels of preparedness ahead of the planed October 2020 phase reopening.
"Assessment had already begun in early September with some counties such as Machakos county said by the circular. Also added that vissiting education officials will be expected to use reopening assessment guidelines and schedule that had earlier been released and made available to the public. In Machakos county, the assessment will end on by the end of September 2020 where all the primary and secondary schools are expected to be assessed.
All schools in the country are expected to be assessed before the planed reopening. This comes at a time when the government through the ministry of education is doing all it can to get learners back to class as soon as possible. Reports have it that schools might be reopened in six weeks time with the candidate classes resuming first to begin prepare for their national exams that will be done sometime next year.
