Dr. Nusirat Elelu Educates On Immunization, Discloses Next Action
The Executive Secretary of Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KWSPHCDA), Dr. Nusirat Elelu, has reiterated the need for primary health care immunization for children under age five below.
She stated this via a radio programme "Elaloro", where she stressed the importance of Primary health care as the first point of call to the local people in the community.
Dr. Elelu commended the state government under the leadership of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq for his utmost support towards good health care delivery in Kwara State.
She appreciated the people of Kwara State for their continued cooperation and unflinching support during the first round of the immunization exercise which was completed on Tuesday.
She noted that the people from rural areas need to be re-oriented concerning immunization.
"The state has embarked on Health insurance which covers mainly the poorest of the poor in society. It's an avenue the state government has decided to ensure the poor people are not forgotten in the health line issue." She said.
She charged the people against adequate prevention of diseases especially World pandemic cases (COVID-19), cautioning that the people have started to become oblivion of the pandemic thinking that it has gone.
"People don't use sanitizer again even to the point of not observing social distancing rules. COVID-19 still exists and I will plead with the people to ensure they continue to observe the guidelines towards taming the spread of the deadly virus." she said.
She observed that pregnant women under the nutrition program should endeavor to come for anti-natal care, stressing that the care will then be extended to the neo-natal.
"Apart from immunization, we are treating common ailments like Malaria, typhoid, etc."
Integrated medical outreach to all the 16 local governments will be launched next week starting from the 16th- 20th of November, as strongly supported by the state government". She affirmed.
