Fedpoffa Deputy Rector Admin. Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi Bags JCI Award
Deputy Rector Administration of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi has been granted meritorious award by Junior Chamber International (JCI), Fedpoffa Chapter.
The award was granted to appreciate his contributions, kindhearted gestures and continuous support for the activities of the organization in the Polytechnic.
The Chapter President, Aluko Abisola Mary, while presenting the award commended the maverick efforts of Dr. Afolabi as Patron of the organization and applauded the landmark achievements recorded by the organization with the support of the patron.
She disclosed this at the investiture ceremony held on Saturday 23rd, 2021 at Offa Progressive Women Association hall. The President said, " Dr. Olarongbe has played a tremendous role to support Junior Chamber International and he always make sure the organization is well monitored and coordinated. This award is to express our gratitude for being a great mentor to young generations like us.
While reacting to the award, Dr. Olarongbe acknowledged the laborious attempt and entrepreneurial skills shown by members of JCI and charged them more on community development services to further project the image of the organization and that of the Polytechnic at large. He therefore pledges more support for the organization not only as their Patron but as one of the principal officers.
According to him, "Junior Chamber International (JCI) has done well in terms of advocacy campaign on campuses such as no to examination malpractice, no to drug abuse, no to sexual harassment and many others. This is the kind of organization that need to be supported and I' m using this medium to pledge more support for the organization in order to be more productive."
Former registrar of the Polytechnic, Alhaji Abdul Hamid Raji who was equally awarded as life patron of the organization expressed satisfaction and support for the chamber. He however beseeched members to be business oriented and self reliance.
He said, " I became life patron of JCI since 2010 and I have been contributing my own quota since then. The fact still remains that JCI has been practicing entrepreneurship for the past 50 years. Therefore, I want to admonish you to be courageous in your activities and be law abiding. Be self reliance and venture into business after school."
