Fact-Check: Did Oyo Govt. Really Lift Ban On Social Gatherings Ahead Of Salah ?
The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has denied the widely circulated rumour that the State Government has lifted the restrictions on social distancing regarding places of worship including mosques and churches.
The Governor has debunked the information to be fake news and should be utterly ignored.
According to him, " A statement is circulating in the press purportedly from me, stating that we have lifted the restrictions on social distancing regarding places of worship. This information is false and should be completely disregarded."
The Governor therefore made reference to his press briefing dated on May, 18, 2020. He said the experts are carrying out a risk situation analysis and will be sending in their report before the end of May which will determine the next steps to be taken by State Government.
