FEDPOFFA Alumni Celebrates May 8,  Holds Annual Program On Telegram



May 8 of every year has been a  memorial day in the history of the Federal Polytechnic Offa as a result of the crisis that occurred which led to the death of some student activists in the institution

This gory occurrence has therefore been set aside by Alumni Association of the Federal Polytechnic Offa as a remarkable day to remember the fallen heroes and uphold the mutual understanding between the polytechnic's students and the host communities.

In a bid to  sustain the tenacity towards the commemoration of the year 2020 edition, the programme has therefore been taken to online through Telegram platform where there shall be a Lead Presentation and Discussion on the ' Concept and Context of May 8: The Quest for Sustainable Peace.

According to the Alumni Association's National Publicity Secretary, Joel Afolayan said as a result of public health crisis occasioned by Coronavirus, the Association has taken over the usual May 8 celebration and thereby redirecting its pattern of celebration towards making it a veritable peace and education platform through which circumstances surrounding the ugly incident shall be reflected upon and ways of preventing subsequent occurrences shall be brought to fore.

Mr. Afolayan further stressed that the Alumni will be making donation of face masks to Offa, Erin-Ile and the polytechnic community as part of the activities to mark and commemorate the day.
