Corruption: 1000 Ghost Workers Discovered In Kwara SUBEB
Not less than 1000 ghost workers have been discovered in Kwara State.
The ghost workers were smuggled into Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board ( KWSUBEB) payroll.
The Zonal Head of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in Kwara State disclosed this in Ilorin on Thursday while briefing newsmen on the commission's achievements during covid-19 lockdown across the country.
Kwara State zonal head, Mallam Isyaku Sharu stressed that the commission's achievement within 16 months of its operations in Kwara included the interim forfeiture of eight different residential the inter. buildings within Ilorin.
He noted that EFCC made additional cash recovery of more than N138 million from alleged treasury looters, for the state.
He said, “You recall that the zone had earlier handed over N374 million to the state Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazak, on two occasions. The zone has also uncovered alleged diversion of about N750 million from the Light Up Kwara Project.
“Funds for the project, worth about N72 million, was used in purchasing a property in Guzape area of Abuja,”
He therefore assures the general public that the commission would never relent in its efforts to bring sanity back to the society by investigating, arresting and prosecuting corrupt citizens
