State Govt. Distributes 5,667 Rams, 993 Cows To Civil Servants In Zamfara
In a bid to celebrate Sallah festival, Zamfara State Government has distributed 5,667 rams and 993 cows to civil servants and groups in the state.
However, Governor Bello Matawalle says the distribution was part of its efforts to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was confirmed in a statement by the Director General to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Yusuf Idris.
Idris said, “Considering the high cost of essential commodities, especially the animals in the market, the governor found it imperative to buy and distribute the animals to civil servants and other groups free of charge for the Eid Elkabir celebration.”
Idris stressed that the gesture would also bring down the prices of rams and cows in the state.
