2,159 applicants for recruitment as constables were screened during the first week of the exercise in Osun State.
This was confirmed in a statement by the State Police Command Public Relations Officer Yemisi Opalola on Sunday.
According to her, those screened were applicants from 14 local government areas of the state.
Opalola said officials from the state office of the Federal Character Commission monitored the exercise as observers.
She also said the screening had progressed without hitch, adding that it would continue on Monday (today).
The statement read partly, “As at the end of the first week of police recruitment, 2,159 candidates were screened from 14 local government areas of Osun State namely: Aiyedaade, Aiyedire, Atakumosa East, Atakumosa West, Boluwaduro, Boripe, Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, Ejigbo, Ife Central, Ife East, Ife North and Ife South.”
