Cleric Arrested After Saying "Eid Ban Is A Fight Against Islam."
Sheik Bello Yabo, an Islamic Cleric in Sokoto State has been arrested for telling Muslims to flaunt public gathering order.
Sheik Bello in a widely circulated video encouraged Muslims to confront authorities in any state that ban Eid prayers to curb the further spread of Covid-19.
The cleric also proclaimed that coronavirus is a lie and the State Governors that placed restriction on public gathering to stop Eid prayers were fighting Islam and not Covid-19.
He was arrested for a misleading statement that can constitute rumpus and social unrest in the country.
