Give Nigerian Students #100, 000 each To Get Generator, Data And Laptop Before Commencing Online Lectures- NANs Tells FG
National Association of Nigerian Students has challenged the directive of Federal Ministry of Education to tertiary institutions in Nigeria to start online classes.
NANs emphasised on the fact that, Covid-19 has caused serous financial havoc and destitute on many students to the extent that larger percentage of the population are now submerged in hunger while many are on the verge of joining them.
In a press release issued by NANs zone D, South West, the association said, the order for the commencement of online classes for students in tertiary institutions by Federal Government is hypocritical as successive governments in the country have actually failed to invest in education which has made it impossible to hold online classes as a result of lack of resources.
NANs therefore demanded for the provision of study allowamce of not less than one hundred thousand naira each (#100, 000) to purchase internent WiFi, data, altermative electricity generators in absence of electricity including laptop for all students
