Lagos Govt. Pulls Down Distressed  Building, Throws-out  Illegal Squatters

In the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development (MPP&UD), officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency pulled down a distressed building.

Following a distress call by residents of Ojuelegba, officials responded to the aid of the residents to avoid later casualty following the collapse of the balcony of the distressed building. 

It was gathered that the empty building had initially been marked for demolition before it was occupied by 30 illegal squatters. 



The building is currently being pulled down by LASBCA officials in an exercise personally led and supervised by Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, accompanied by SA Urban Planning, Hon. Ganiyu Adele.


Other officials include MPP&UD Permanent Secretary, Arc. Folusho Dipe, General Manager, LASBCA, Engr. Biola Kosegbe, Director General of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Oke Osanyintolu , and officials of the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA).
