NYSC Extends Sixty-Eight Corps Members Service Year, As 3 Gets Merit Award In Lagos

Sixty-Eight members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), in Lagos State had their service year extended, as 3 corps members received merit awards for their outstanding performance.
The Lagos State Coordinator of the NYSC, Eddy Megwa, said as the scheme commenced distribution of certificates to Batch B, Stream I, Corps members, on Thursday.
The NYSC passing out parade was scheduled for yesterday, but due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, discharge certificates were distributed to corps members in the local governments of their place of primary assignment.
According to him, 6, 196 corps members completed the service year successfully, 68 corps members had their service year extended.
While three corps members would be receiving state merit awards for their outstanding performance during their service year.
Eddy Megwa expressed his happiness concerning the successful end of the service year for Stream I Batch B in Lagos State.
He however revealed that the 68 who would be repeating the year, simply because they had gone against the rules of the NYSC.
