BREAKING: Kwara Govt. Announces Date for School Reopening

Kwara state government has announced resumption date for reopening of schools in the state.

Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq disclosed this on his verified twitter account on Wednesday.

The statement read, "After we have held various trainings for teachers on how to protect themselves and students from the COVID-19 infection and ensured improved manpower in monitoring and case tracings, we hereby direct the reopening of primary and secondary schools from October 5, 2020.

"Similarly, state-owned tertiary institutions are to reopen from October 12 or as may be determined by their respective governance structures."

He however urged school authorities to ensure that all safety protocols are adhered to, including physical distance, use of face masks, and constant washing of hands with soap and water, in order to flatten the curve of transmission of the virus.

"We will continue to do our best to keep our people safe at all times," he said
