Fedpoffa Staff Drill Borehole For Community In Memory Of The Late Rector Olatinwo







Staff of the Federal Polytechnic Offa that joined the services of the institution during the tenure of the immediate past substantive Rector, late Dr. Mufutau Olatunde Olatinwo have drilled a standard borehole in memory of the late Rector.

These selected staff and others who keyed into the initiative; magnanimously contributed money towards channeling a drinkable borehole water at Oke-Agun area of the Offa town. The project was completed and handed over to the community leaders recently.

While speaking at the hand-over ceremony, one of the initiators of this laudable feat explained how the idea was conceived around July, last year and mobilization of other staffers commenced. He added that some other senior staff of the Polytechnic were impressed with the initiative and decided to be part of project. 
The Chief Imam of the Polytechnic, Imam Waheed Adeyemi Alata acknowledged and commended the facilitators for thinking out of the box to honor the late Rector with such befitting project that will also benefit the community.

He emphasized on the fact that the project was borne out of good legacy of the former Rector during his life time and urged others to lead a good legacy.

In his words, “As long as people fetch this water, it is as if the late Rector, Dr. Olatinwo is the one giving the water to the community and he will continue to earn the reward. This is actually the reward of his good deeds when he was alive."
"According to Islamic juncture, the position of late Dr. Olatinwo has been revealed with this kind of good tidings commissioned to favour the mankind. May his soul continue to Rest In Peace. I hope we will all take a cue from this and try to live well and impact lives while we are yet here." 

Also speaking, the Head of Building Technology Department, Pastor Shittu described the late Dr. Olatinwo as God’s messenger who had come to deliver what his Creator sent him  before his death. He congratulated the facilitators for making efforts to immortalise the “good man” and also prayed for his soul to continue to rest in the Lord.

Responding, wife of the late former Rector, Hajia Muslimat Olatinwo on behalf of the family thanked the community for embracing the project and also appreciated the facilitators for counting late Dr. Olatinwo worthy of such honour. 

While the community leader, Alhaji Raheemina on behalf of Oke-agun community thanked the Polytechnic staff for counting the community worthy of such project. He stressed further that drinkable water is one of the major challenges facing the community and the whole community will forever be grateful to the facilitators for solving water problem for the community. 

He further prayed for the the soul of Dr. Olatinwo to continue to rest in peace.
